The teaching proposal

Il “Tedone” has been recognized by inclusion in the GOLD national best practice teaching of the "We built the theater," for writing a play by two of our high school classes. GOLD
experiences are included, provided that proper selection of proposals
most qualified and innovative in the archives of the Ministry, currently number 100, to be guidelines to all schools for the development of innovative teaching methods.
In 2004 he was selected and added to the experience on the construction of the text of "Pagnottella" written the previous year and accounted for 2005, the proposal can be found at:
http://gold.indire.it/nuovo/gen/show-s.php?ObjectID=BDP-GOLD00000000001C9312 .

Here is part of the record of their report, which describes the development of the initiative during the Air. sc. 2002/03.

The activity of creating the text "Pagnottella" developed in times coincide, in principle, with the entire span of the second quarter of last school year. Direct experience has a better understanding of all students will require many of the choices ahead of preparing and writing a text, how many possibilities there are to make an issue or problem that it is important to calibrate and when to make the most of situations, characters and environments, with many clichés, mental and expressive, it is necessary to deal , which importance is the homogeneity of the product and its internal consistency.
In creating the text, the general plot of the work, the individual scenes, the specific situations, characteristics of the characters, the language assumed (dance, words, music, image) have always been subject to transformation until the last moment, everything has remained resilient, adaptable, but every change has always come to terms with the rest of the work, because the end result was a product line (in the manner, in parts, in relation to the message), balanced (the weight of the characters in the scene length), original (in finding the most effective choices, focusing on creativity, without But that is bordering on free or an end in itself, needs to also spectacular).

The creation of the text involved a series of transactions and activities that the students have done through discussions, contacts, tasks in the classroom, or work in the afternoon, group or individual.
Everything can be summarized and outlined through the following path:
1) Identification of the issue through discussions group reflection and the uses to which it was intended to hunger, on the theory that they wanted to prove that it was intended to convey the message.
2) Choosing the type of work we set out to create (a protagonist, choir, mixed);
3) Decision on the register to be used (grotesque, ironic, playful and elegiac, dramatic, etc.).
4) Decision on key (realistic, symbolic, mixed);
5) Research and creation of specific situations or special characters that could effectively make the themes to be developed and appropriate for an implementation according to the register and the selected key. Proposals for each student, in writing, developing specially designed questionnaire, were examined, selected, adapted and supplemented by a small group of students who worked under the guidance of the teacher is proposed to 'attention of the entire group.
6) Creating a general plot, a plot of maximum, to be supplemented or amended as necessary, to develop the various themes using the situations, characters and others imagined that they could interact with them. Taking advantage of the ideas and the ideas more valid and interesting proposals emerged from the individual, through a discussion group, mapped out a general plot of the work, which also provided a setting to the story, placing it in space and time.
7) Discussion of the various characters, some in all aspects: motivation in the action, social background, culture, character and cut psychological, expressive habits, tics and obsessions, problems related to the character and which condition the behavior.
Proposals for each student, in writing, developing specially designed questionnaire, were examined, selected, adapted and supplemented by a small group of students who worked under the guidance of the teacher, and then re-discussed in the group.
8) finalization of the texture on the basis of additional information that emerged through the deepening of the characters, with:
a) Decisions on the final events related to various topics;
b) Integration of situations to better make particular aspects of the characters' personalities
c) Elimination of what might be superfluous in the plot of maximum
d) Decision on the languages \u200b\u200bto be used to make paintings or specific situations (verbal, musical, dance)
e) Selection of solutions to reconcile between their themes or situations
9) Creation of the overall scheme of work, namely the distribution of matter in scenes.
For each scene were given the characters involved, the situations to be developed, the meaning and content of the dialogues.
10) Creation of the lyrics
Each student has provided its own draft text for the songs to be included. The various proposals were examined, selected and adapted by a small group of students who worked under the guidance of the teacher.
11) Spreading the dialogue scene by scene.
Abstract:
Regarding the creation of beats, the students were accustomed to select and use tools and diverse media (lexicons, folkloric material, collections of proverbs and idioms) and asked to use different expressive registers: formal and informal language , slang and dialects.
Work organization
To engage all students have been trained eight basic groups of four students each (balanced between groups for their overall capabilities) and 2 groups of supervisors, made up of the more capable and creative students.
The characterization, already done upstream, and the existence of a general pattern of work, specifying the content of the various scenes, made possible the parallel formulation of different hypotheses by the groups as a basis for dialogue on the same scenes .
In each meeting, the grassroots groups have worked to create dialogues with a number of scenes.
For the first meeting, the supervisors have been the wild card, moving from one group to another and collaborating on the development of the project from the second meeting, however, have examined the different hypotheses for each scene of dialogue made by grassroots groups , and created the dialogues final, taking the best from each proposal, adapting, "contaminating", integrating, reducing or possibly rewriting the dialogue, however, giving homogeneity to texts written by different hands.
12) Installation of all the scenes and general review of the product,
groups of supervisors, led by the teacher, have re-read the entire text created by intervening to make it more uniform in style and expression; worked shifts or cut scenes ; connections created and produced a balance of work to ensure that every detail was in the light of all that there were no redundancies and that, consistent with the specific weight of the various characters, action were balanced.
13) Creation of working groups composed of boys who were unwilling to act, and these groups have dealt with:
- Study of the costumes: the search for solutions more affordable and original, finding or designing costumes
- Studio make-up according to character of the work and the characteristics of the characters
- Design of the choreography
- Creation of scenery and props
- Study of effects or music for the soundtrack of the work, according to a decision consistent with the character of the play, and with the atmosphere that you intend to create or emphasize.
Regarding the preparation of the show itself, after the award roles through the specimen, was drawn a general calendar of evidence that, with a judicious system of rotation, has alternated between the groups of pupils involved, in order to avoid the boys both wasting time, that the stress test in days close.
During rehearsals for the show were systematically provided information and suggestions relating to the characterization and the yield of the situations, but tend to leave big space to the creativity of students, "disciplined" only aimed at achieving better yield of the spirit of the work. The most care during the laboratory stage involved the use of stage space, spatial body movement, mime and gesture, the group scenes, the leap of beats, breaks the action, the report stop-motion, the emotional involvement, interaction with the audience, the pace of dialogue and ' stage action.
During the tests, the script is complete, update with all the information on actions, interactions, movements, locations on the stage, etc. ... gag.
This mass of information has been merged in the script in the form of captions and diagrams.

2004: funded the NOP for the festival of theater and music

The Tedone made two festivals for local schools

From communication to the headmasters of the territory:

'Nell' scope of the ESF-funded projects PON our school has received approval and funding for the next school year, among others, two projects of the measure 3.2, projects which aim at preventing and reducing early school leaving. The policy areas of the two projects is the experience of theater and music as forms of re-motivation and promotion of educational, through creativity and the leadership students. The specific of the two projects is the organization and implementation of an event that allows local schools to use autonomous forms of communication through theater and music and to emphasize the influence of children and young people to perform in public events to discuss and express in creative activities.
In this perspective, the School is already developing a joint program of representations that will allow local schools to use a structure that acts as a stage open to the general public in order to document its activities and initiatives significant in the show.
In practice you are assuming the implementation of the "Review of theater and music during the period May 2 to 15, 2005, extended to middle and high schools in the district and, on an experimental basis, even at elementary schools in Ruvo. Each school may submit only one work (or play music) that will be represented at the auditorium of the Lyceum "Tedone" or other open space close to the Lyceum.
With this communication I wanted to announce the completion of the project and also facilitate the integration initiative in the POF of the participating institutions so that she has the most extensive rights as an asset training school. 2003: A PON to prevent school drop

The "Tedone" is a prevention project using theatrical activity

From the proposed implementation of the Project:
Despite having a tradition of theatrical performances and works also in dialect, Ruvo not currently have a public or private room that would give the opportunity for young high school or other schools and organizations to set up plays. The Lyceum is the only institution that has adequate space (auditorium) that can be used to promote play and to create shows.
The school also aims at enhancing the skills gained from previous experiences of theatrical activity, supported by the expertise of teachers who have a long and proven ability in the field, as demonstrated dall'allestimento every two years of work represented at school and in national reviews, with gratifying results.
In essence, the school would become a gathering cultural, social and artistic. The Project, therefore, arises not so much as a remedy to a dispersion in an act of great proportions (which is not), but as a form of prevention that wants to affect the motivation and promote activities that encourage positive energy to go, even before the same may be dispersed or directed to other channels.
The project has three forms provided, namely:

"the play"
· Presentation of design and evaluation of the motivations of the participants
· Make up social and cultural problems to define the theme
· Group discussion on the possible choices
· Work Group to develop a plot
° Assignment of parts of the story to be processed individually
• Evaluation of results of individual work
· Review of the play and final approval by the group

"scene-costumes-music-choreography"
· Presentation of the project and assessment of the motivations of the participants
§ From furnishing the play
· The scenic elements Basic programming language stage (backdrops, furniture, lights)
· The simplicity and functionality of the scenes and the gear
· The choice of soundtrack
· The costumes in the history and art: significance and representativeness
· The realization of simple • The ballet costumes
as the time of sign language and representation-rhythmic

"staging"
· Presentation of the project and assessment of the motivations of the participants
· The evidence in the theater
· L 'interpretation through the joke, facial expression, gesture, expression
• The body movement and gestures of each character
· The position on the stage

• The movement of group
• The pace of work

At the conclusion of the Project is was drawn to the report on the work that was later taken from the experiences of the National GOLD with the title "We built the theater."

New Bumps After Permethrin

'S COMMITMENT " Tedone "FOR THE YOUNG AND THE TERRITORY

"Pagnottella", "The bars inside," "Alien-action," "Which eye?" "The lawn of others," "The same ... it's different!" For several years at the Liceo Scientifico "O. Tedone" the theater is increasingly designed and constructed to measure student.
staging of works of authorship is in fact accompanied the challenge of a theater that begins with children and to create "drama" to their hardships, dreams, committing not only as actors, "but as" actors cre- ".
The plural is a must, because these texts are not the result of the solitary work of individual students creative and capable, but the culmination of long and structured learning paths involving up to 50 students.
A job that has its moments of passionate and lively debate: the search for the topic, the discussion around the problem, formulate a thesis to sustain. The discomfort typically
teen to live with a body that does not match the proposed model-imposed by society, high technology, alienation, war among the poor, the meaning of true solidarity, the relationship between parents - children, the search for work and the issue of security, the choice of motherhood, homosexuality, the importance of education: the many topics discussed.
serious problems, but systematically addressed in an ironic, playful, imagining situations, building plots, defining characters, creating dialogue, assuming different languages \u200b\u200b(verbal, musical, dance), creating connections to transactions and activities conducted through discussions and exchanges, compiling cards, work group or individual, classroom or home.
The experience of creating the text, particularly challenging for the space that allows the expression of individual creativity, certainly useful in education as accustomed to cooperation and confrontation, is invaluable in terms of teaching students to better understand many of the choices will require a mountain of creation and drafting of a work; how many possibilities there are to make an issue or problem that it is important to calibrate and when to make the most of situations, characters and environments, with many clichés, mental and expressive, it is necessary to reckon; what importance is the homogeneity of the product and its internal consistency.
The verification of the validity of the text can not be left solely to the opinion of the public who sees the staging, this belief has led us to seek external feedback and qualified in competitions reserved for students of drama: there have been successes: special mention of the text "Pagnottella" to the second national competition "for a drama Young "- award" Michele Mazzella ", 4 th place - among more than 130 papers presented - for the opera" The bars inside "in the third edition of the same competition, special prize to 'Teacher Award in the 6th edition for Michael Mazzella 'opera "Which eye?"
closed the creation of the text is passed to the staging: the selection to assign the roles, evidence and, in parallel, the search for music or effects to the soundtrack of the show the choice and implementation of the scenery and costumes, makeup design, the design of the choreography, even putting to the test the creativity of students.
Since the success of a show binds to a large extent the relationship created between the "actors" and audience in the theater project "Tedone" not without a phase dedicated to prospective viewers, a project developed in collaboration with schools of the territory, which includes meetings with students of second or third year to present the text that will be offered in a vision, to discuss the problems present in the job, explain the method of construction.
After watching the show, pupils produce accounts of their experiences of spectators, reviews, drawings, poems, research and reflection on the problems addressed in the text or on the world of theater.
This material, collected in the dossier, then becomes the subject discussed at the last meeting, in which children comment on and evaluate what they saw.
For several years, having presented several times and repeated the show in the auditorium of the School, the "Tedone" the path of academic reviews of theater: the provincial, regional and national.
For this side misses are not encouraging: first prize at the Seventh National Exhibition of the School of Theatre and Alton special mention for the best staging, second prize at the VIII National Press Theatre School and Alton medal of the President of the Senate Best Actress, the first prize at the Provincial Competition II "Curtain @ school" Bitonto; school finalist V Theater at the National School Competition "Grifo d'Oro" Partanna (TP); message "Shop Italy" at the XXIV National Press Theatre School Serra S. Quirico (AN); Imaie prize for the best student-interpreter at the 2006 National Competition IV "Michele Mazzella (Rome), reporting to the ninth edition of the National Theatre School Festival" Elizabeth Turroni "in Cesena, first prize for the best work to III edition of theatrical history of all histories "of Agropoli (SA) awards for best artistic contribution, for the Best Actress and Best Actor for the fourth edition of the play" The Story of all stories "of Agropoli (SA) first prize of gold for the Walnut High School in the Fourth National Exhibition TEATER, Theatre of the School of Small Towns and not just Maiori (SA) first prize for the high school at The National Festival Theatre School Kids, Award Giovanni De Blasiis "Power, Comedy section first prize at the XV International Festival of Classical Theatre School Altamura, second prize for High Schools at the XII edition of the Festival Theatre School Alton, reporting to the twelfth edition of the festival's national Theatre School "E. Turroni in Cesena.
Through the comparison with the proposals of other schools, attending performances of all kinds, taking part in activities workshops, our students enhance their knowledge of the theater world and, above all, trained as critics and discerning audiences.
Leveraging very strong motivation in adolescence (the need of leadership, the need for reassurance and approval), these experiences teach cooperation, promoting and strengthening the socialization process (because the theater is a game "team") ; it used the assumption of responsibility (because only a commitment, seriousness and effort staff can ensure success) to help him gain more confidence and security (because i1 teaches theater to dominate the emotions), and induce to experiment, learn more about himself, his limits, hindrance or inconvenience needs and capacity, a prerequisite for trying to grow better.
This is our drama project the result of training options and education inspired by the idea of \u200b\u200ba training course aims at enhancing the direct experience and creativity as a means of stimulating growth of young people, according to a methodology consistent approach to the business teaching developed in the classroom.

Educational Theatre The theater experience at the center The work of the POF

In High School "Tedone" the theater was a strategic choice of teaching and education to build the training offer. Over the past 12 years has been growing attention and commitment of teachers and students to the theatrical activities considered essential for human growth, social, artistic and cultural development of pupils. This choice has been confirmed by the wording of the POF (Piano of the training school) and in defining the list of annual activities that have devoted considerable space to theater school.

Since then, numerous initiatives have been connected to the theater. Dall'allestimento at least two performances each school year, the creation of replicas for the general public, participation in numerous local and national integration in the Ministry of National GOLD project proposal "We built the theater, what experience teaching to suggest to all schools, the construction of a fully equipped theater in the auditorium of our home, to the numerous awards in theaters and venues of racing's most prestigious theater (Teatro Quirino di Roma, Teatro Bonci "in Cesena, Teatro Comunale Power, Theatre "Umberto Primo" by Bito, International Theatre School Alton, Review of the Theatre School of Serra San Quirico).

We can say that this theatrical activity has become an educational dimension of high school and is perfectly integrated with the teaching of the school. Many of the students who followed the drama activities in school have continued the path too far from school, at the conclusion of the course. For some of them became the choice of professional artistic activity. They also Apost two theater groups of former students of high school who wanted to continue operating as an amateur and one of these was set up in association with the name "The Matryoshka" to emphasize the parentage of the "Tedone.

certainly open-mindedness of the students found the experience of great space players, spectators, also enriched by the comparison and friendship of so many other students from other schools also actor-audience .
